I am looking for the rubber gasket matreial that goes around the bottom of the cover of my boat motor covers. After I retired I started rebuilding old boats.

Don't know where you might find it in the boating community, but have you thought about the RV/generator world?

Similar requirements I would think, except for the saltwater consideration, and I don't think that would be a big factor here

Cheap me, I used some stretch, thin rubber, almost like that from an inner tube. Cut a long strip, glued the ends together and put it on. Worked good. It was better than Yamaha's price of $45 and it was a motor that was on its last legs.

I found it at the dealer but it was 75.00 for the two motors, that sounds like something that will work. I am going to try it.
