Looking at a 87 Larson w/ Merc 5.7

So I am thinking about purchasing a 1987 Larson that the owner says has a 5.7 liter Merc in it. He wants a center console and I want a cabin boat so we are going to trade. Are the Merc cruisers good setups? I will do a compression test but anything else I can do? Its in the water so we will take it out.

I am doing research but are there any unhappy Larson owners out there who can tell me what to look out for. I am guessing soft floors?
