Hey guys. I'm back with my 1982 sea ray with a mercruiser 228 Chevy Small Block 305 5.0

Over this winter I would like to convert my exhaust manifolds and risers from the old log style to the new center riser style.

Would like to purchase a full conversion kit. Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on where to purchase from as I am a noob here

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone!

Should be a simple enough swap except if you have a different Y pipe. Standard is 4 inch,

but if you have 3 inch exhaust which uses the 15 degree elbow, might have some fit issues

The pic your exhaust manifolds and risers.
Can you hoses like off the 1998 to 2001 for part numbers

I see they sell complete kits, with all the clamps, hoses, and everything you need like the alternator bracket and what not, I've seen them anywhere from $1,000 -2,000.

Just wanted to know if anyone has purchased and used any of these kits and their thoughts, also wanted to know of any companies that make these kits if any are better then the others

I'm not familiar with doing that conversion but I did a one piece bat wing conversion on my '88 OMC to a center riser set up. I used Barr manifolds and risers and the Volvo style 90* exhaust elbows that mate the 4" riser hose to the 3.5" Y pipe hose. It all fit perfect on the original OMC Y pipe. I'd look through Barr's catalog and see if they make a conversion for what you want to do. A good source is Partman or Lighthouse Marine (same place) in Riverhead Long Island NY.
