20hp johnson 2 stroke 1987 has a leak just under the bottom spark plug almost looks like the cylinder head cover gasket. Would this be correct i have a video not the best quality.
The tell tail pees and the exhaust spits fine.

I might need part number 57 and maybe 21🤷‍♂️? I have no clue about what to start at, would it be hard to change i just dont want to pull the power head.

Could be.....hard to tell from video. Make sure it's not coming from the black hose (pin hole) that goes to your TT. Otherwise, yes those would need to be replaced and you would need to check flatness of your head. Bolts can be tricky, be careful. Salt water use?

Black hose is good. Leaks like a siv when it runs. Ill be carful it doesnt look terrible.
Not sure on salt water, it sat for 3 years , took it on trade. Started up fine compressions high and no water in lower unit. 090CEEE4-E37A-40F2-8F40-4164DC84A2E7.jpeg

Tightened them a bit more no luck still leaking
Didn't think so, remove them very carefully. If they won't go don't force them heat and time. Loosen a little, tighten a little. Hopefully they just come out in the begining.

Is there a chance its leaking at the power head gasket or no?
Is there any other tests i can do too see? Its just a realy hard spot to see with the cowl in the way, altho i do belive its on the cylinder head side

Or it could be a crack in the head or block. Not aware of any other test but let's see if anyone else has an opinion, i may not be the best one to diagnose this one.

Your one of the lucky ones!
Be sure to check your mating surfaces and lap them if needed before reinstalling.

Im glad it wasnt cracked, and that it wasnt the power head gasket
Is there any recommendations on using gasket maker or just gasket themselves

Get gaskets, clean up head and water cover, read past posts about checking head for flatness and using sand paper to true up. Also, work slow to remove water cover bolts.

For some reason I thought someone told you....if I can remember right, 18 to 20ft pounds on the head bolts and mechanics snug by feel on the jacket cover bolt. I think there 1/4 20 so not to tight. Snug, should be in inch pounds if you have that tool. Did you check head flatness?

I did check, cant find anything out of spec .not wrapped. Check the water jacket plate and cylinder head cover. That gasket looked real healthy.
Pretty much set now Id say

Double checked torque specs. Head bolts are in inch pounds as well which converts to 18.5 ft pounds. If you don't have an inch pound wrench I would again do them maybe by feel. Not sure a inexpensive ft lbs wrench will be that accurate. Better to torque them though. Also, picture on head flatness, guys on here true them up with sandpaper stuck to a very flat sub straight like glass and you rub the head on it in a figure eight pattern. Here is some specs out of my book. Generic bolt torque specs are bolt diameter not head size. Hope this helps.
