Past 80 to 100 foot depths the digital depth starts to flash, the bottom echo looks faint, the automatic depth tracking ceases to function. The position of the transducer looks OK.
Only other clue is that sometimes, even in shallow water, the digital depth number starts to flash and it seems the sonar "freezes". I sometimes have to turn off the unit and restart it to get it going again. I wrote Lowrance and got a canned message saying for $199.00 they would take a look. I am hoping the forum will have some comment.
