1986 90 hp 6 cyl. Merc. sitting 3 years. Replaced center console, put in new ignition switch, rebuilt the carbs. Finally got it running, won't stop ! Have to disconnect gas line. I think on the old console the kill switch only had a yellow/black stripe wire to it.
There is more than one yellow/black wire in the harness, are they all the same circuit?
The off position on the ignition switch doesn't work either, may not have it wired right,
it starts and the choke works but won't stop the motor.
Seems all the problems are with the same circuit at the console. The kill switch was working all too well when i got the boat, had to get help from max695 to trace and fix the problem. Appreciate any and all help, Thanks.
