I have a 35hp Johnson that was converted from a 1987 20hp j20crcur

I currently have a 10x15 prop on it now and I'm hitting about 23mph on a fiberglass 1961 boat with 2 adults 1 child, battery's and gear.

My RPM range is hitting 4350 at WOT at 23mph.

I'm wondering if this is the right size prop for my boat or if I should go bigger or smaller.

In winter currently I do a lot of fishing, however in spring/summer it will be mix of fishing /skiing pulling a tube.

Would love some knowledgeable people to chime in and help thanks! ! Let me know if you need any more info.

Re: johnson prop size question

You should post this in the prop section of this forum.

Re: johnson prop size question

Agreed, this is a prop question, but reading your old posts I see you have been doing some mods to the motor. So it really isn't totally a prop question.

Your RPM is way low. That may be from too much prop, or the motor may not be producing the horsepower. Hard to define which without running it on a correct test prop.

The 35hp motors are rated @ 5500RPM. Full throttle operating range is 5200-5800.
