How do i check the timing is correct, on 92-97 johnson evinrude j6 (same as 8hp)

I have 100psi both cylinders and good spark but not even a cough with premix directly into cylinders, into intake, and same thing with starting fluid.

I have purchaced a pdf manual but it is about 550 pages and covers 1990-2001 all models. I havent been able to find the info i need but maybe i am missing it.

Is it just a flywheel key or if there is more to it, i would greatly appreciate it if someone could take the time to post the procedure.

Thank you very much

^^agree with boobie. Have to see good spark (think spark tester). Maybe the emergency cut off switch was activated by mistake -- little clip on the lanyard.

Yes coil wires were switched! I got the engine as-is, with them hooked up backwards.

Orange on bottom, orange and blue on top as racerone says. Thanks!!
