i have recently just bought a johnson 3hp engine and i have just found out today that it is not cooling properly. i Have had the bottom leg off flushing it and making sure there is no blockages.i have also had the water jackets off getting all the crap out of them and there is still no constant water flow. i got told that there should be a spray of water coming out of four holes above the prop. should there be a spray or a constant flow of water?. if you could give me any advice i would be really gratefull

Look for only a light spray of water out of the holes on the back of the leg -- not a lot. Maybe it's not really overheating. If you can reach under the back of the powerhead and hold you hand briefly (a few seconds) on the bottom of the cylinder head, it's not overheating.
