Is it possible to change a 9.9 to a 15hp

Looking to get a little mor power out of my 84 9.9 evinrude.
Is it true the only differences in the carb jet. Can I just put new jet in or do I have to put a new carb in and make other changes as well.?

Just the jet gets you nowhere but down. There are several factors and it's rarely economcially feasible. Attack just one or two aspects and you get a less than full result. It can even go down in power unless you do it all.

change reed cage, intake, carb..
not sure if u can get a thinner head gasket..
then you might get more power..

is it all worth it...time/money? NO!

sell it, buy a 15hp.. or put a 15hp sticker and lose the extra weight in the boat.
