Here is a boat i am looking at buying, it is made by Aldura Boats in BC. They seem to have a bit of a following, the boat is like a zodiac but the tubes are instead aluminum ! the owner also took a 13ft one and made it a 17boat. My concern is that is is so narrow, is this safe or what kind of problems can you guys think of this might cause as far as performance... also with only a 50hp is this thing going to plane 5 people do you think, it must be pretty heavy.. i will get to test it out before purchase of course but it's kind of hard to at the moment and at this point i am just trying to figure out if the design even makes sense. here is a link to some of the pics of it. thanks http://www.tradenetboats.com/vdp.php?id=80189

Can't really answer your questions, but your name caught my eye, Lund is a beautiful little spot on out West coast, and I'm always interested in BC built boats. For me, I think you lose a lot of potentially useable space with this type of chambered boat, but to each his own. Try it out and if you like it and want it get the motor checked out, get it surveyed, make a deal and buy it. Good luck.
