initial startup

mercury 1997 200.Purchased this motor to put on my project 20 ft seacraft.Do i need to do anything special to premix,can i leave the oil injection hooked up and premix, to run long enough to check this motor out?
What is the most cost effective way to swap it over?There are 2 oil tanks one in boat one on motor
