I recently purchased a 1990 Ski Supreme with the 350 mercruiser. When I put the boat in the water it wont crank. I have checked the battery and it has over 12volts. I have to move the gear shift lever while holding the key in the crank position until the starter starts the engine. I suspect the neutral safety switch in the velvet drive is faulty. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks for any help or suggestions!
