The NFL has a MVP, most valuable player. The CFL here in Canada has MOP, most outstanding player. The definitions of each are different in my mind. MVP is impact for his team, MOP is numbers.

Jackson of the Ravens gets my MVP vote. He is the most valuable player on his team. His talent this year has helped the Ravens more than any other player has helped his individual team thus MVP. He is also the most outstanding player. I can't vote for Brees because they have won this year without him.

Maybe the NFL should call the award The Most Valuable Quarterback.

I don’t like the Ravens, but Jackson is the MVP.

I was also going to ask about Defensive Player of the Year. Stephon Gilmour in my books is the best this year, another 1st round pick by the Bills they didn't want to pay. He was quoted today saying that he should win it hands down. Nothing like being humble Stephon. Apparently only 6 times has a DB been voted best defensive player. TJ Watt a close second. I wonder if his comment may sway voters against him.
