You must have Adobe Acrobat reader installed to use this manual. If you scroll down to the lower part of the opening page, you will see the various engine components in red. Click on the one you want and when the first page opens, click on the "Save As" icon at the top LH corner of the page and you can save it to your computer.

Re: Idle adjustment for 50 hp mercury outboard

Carholme: I also am having problems with a Merc 50hp the serial number is 0T046871. I am getting spark at the plugs, my concern is the while I had my wife crank the engine so that I could check the spark, alot of raw gas shot out of cylinder 3(bottom). I am sure that prior to checking the spark I had flooded the engine, but it seemed like alot gas coming out of #3. I have a Seloc manual but I think that some of the info maybe misprinted for the idle adjustment the seloc says 1 1/4 turn out where everywhere else I read you start 1 1/2 turns out. If you have a link for this engine would be great, I am hoping that I can get on the water at least a couple times this season, also need a new battery tomorrow as the current one does not seem to be holding a charge barely getting to 12 volts Thanks in advance, have a great 4th

Just noticed that you are in Canada so I guess the 4th is just Monday oh well have a good one anyway!

Re: Idle adjustment for 50 hp mercury outboard

My '78 Merc 4 cylinder would not idle either, it wasn't a matter of adjusting the idle, it was because it was running on 1 carb. With today's CRAPPY fuel, the ethanol can swell the rubber tip on the needle valve and allow the carb to run dry. It will run on 1 carb, but only on fast idle. Be sure that's not your problem, no fuel means no oil either.

Idle or slow troll adjustment for 15 hp mercury outboard

Idle or slow troll adjustment for 15 hp mercury outboard

I'm having a similar problem with a Mercury 15 HP 2 stroke idling or maintaining a slow troll. Seems to run fine at higher RPM. Possibly an altitude adjustment as I'm running at 6,000 ft.

I was hoping for a link to the manual so I can see if it's a home remedy. My s/n is
00178531.

Thanks,
tim

Tim;

Can you double check your s/n, especially the 00? Are you sure about the second 0?

Re: Idle adjustment for 50 hp mercury outboard

Would you please include me on the manual list, I'm having missing problem at wot. I pulled up your parts website looking for a stator #398-825089 but there's none available, and the listed price was the best I've seen. Is it out of stock or discontinued? Anyway my S/N is OT952126 and thanks in advance for the manual.
