IDing shift and throttle cable.....

My shift and throttle cable is very stiff. Volvo 5.0FL and Volvo SX drive. I unhooked both to make sure it was the cables and it was. I checked the cables for some kind of ID mark but I see nothing on them. I surely didn't want to pull them out without the new cables attached. What is the best way to buy replacements? Should I pull them out and then look or measure them? I took pics of the throttle and gear cable to see exactly how they were set up so I could replicate the settings. I posted some pics of the Morse controller. It's stamped MERC also.

Look near the end of the cable, should have numbers in one or both ends that includes the length of the cable.

Don I did find it. The gear shift cable has CC17220 and MAY2594 on it. Safe to assume the throttle cable will be the same just a different length?
