I don't run WOT, is that a problem?

Hey all,
At WOT, I'll get about 60 mph. Way too fast for me on the water. I prefer 25-35 mph. My question is if I run contantly at half throttle, will that cause any issue for me. Will this run hotter or cooler than WOT?

I know some people will tell you that these engines were designed to run WOT all day long. I don't know about that. I do know that when I tore down the 90 Johnson that was on my dads boat since the day he bought in in 1981 it looked like new inside with the cross hatch still on the cylinders after 30 years. That motor had way over 1000 hours on it pulling skiers between 25 and 30 MPH and RARELY saw anything over 35 MPH.

I doubt it will hurt it. I subscribe to the theory that occasional runs at WOT are good for it. But, maybe that is an excuse for me to do 60 in our boat.

However, 98% of the time we are at 20-40mph. Every once in a while, on a big, flat lake I will open it up for a longer period of time.
