Hull ID card

I've got a 1979 22' Islander with no hull id card. How do I get a replacement? Can I call Starcraft and get a duplicate? It's an i/o, what is the max horsepower for the hull? Thanks in advance, John

You won't have any luck with Starcraft, their records for anything earlier than 90 are all gone. Best bet is to get the info from another islander owner and contact North Beach to see if he can make you one, he does a geat job on them.

On my 1983 22' Islander, max hp is 175, total persons 8 or 1500lbs, or max wt of 2000lbs including persons and gear.

Thank you sir. Is yours an I/O? I thought I read OB's and I/O's were rated differently?

JD I would copy Airshots tag if I were you. That sounds about right since we dont have a 79 brochure. I have a batch of id plates that will probably be ready on Tues or so but I can still get you one. Send me a PM.

I'm not real sure exactly what this means-Silver 4x2.2 Inches size, waterproof, decals with UV protected lamination.

So I filled in the blanks and ordered one. The ones we've been having made are laminated to a thin peice of aluminum so you can rivet them to your boat. This sounds like a laminated decal so we'll see.

Yes, I believe they are decals.
I ordered mine on Thursday, so I will see too.

JD, hp ratings are not required on boats over 20' in length.
I only recall looking at the rating plates in i/o boats a few times, and they did not have a hp rating, even on some 18' boats.
