HP ratings question.

Hi<br />I read here that the newer OMC 6hp motors are actually the same as the older 7.5hp due to the way that the hp is rated these days. Is that correct? If so, what would a 1979 6hp be rated at by todays standards?<br /><br />Thanks<br />Steve

If there is a difference, I would really think it would be hard to tell, down in this small HP range.
