How to find out the Hp and top speed of my Volvo Penta engine please

I have bought a Bayliner Liberty estimated as a 1975 approx. It has a Penta inboard engine with an outboard drive. Apologies if my description is off wording wise.I can’t locate an engine number and can’t insure her until I can tell the insurers the horse power and top speed. Can anyone advise and help please. Just joined the forum.

What engine? Speed is dependent on Hp, hull length and weight

Is the motor a 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder, or 8-cylinder?

There should be a tag on the motor identifying it

See if you're able to post any photos of the boat, stern drive and engine too.

Gotta be an ID tag some where, they can be a bitxh to find sometimes..

The hull ID number will certainly give you the year, possibly info on the motor and drive if you can't find anything else
