I have an 84 or 85 40hp evinrude tiller on the same year Crestliner Nordic fiberglass. I would like to go to remote/stick steering. What is a good kit to do this and where do I start? I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I know nothing about outboards or boat workings so please.. plain English lol.
Also what about the throttle and gear shift? Is it possible to operate those remotely as well? Please educate me. Ive been doing some research but can't find anything specific to what I want. Ideally I'd like to get a nice fishing boat with a console steer etc... but thats not in the cards anytime soon
