I have a 12' Grumman V-Hull aluminum boat that my parents gave me without papers five years ago. They bought it from a boat shop 15 years ago that gave them a bill of sale that they no longer have. Plus they don't remember where exactly this place was. Now I am trying to register it in Maryland. It was register at the last time in NJ where my parents used to live. How can I get a new title to do this. There are no bill of sale or records for this boat. I do have the serial number, but Grumman does not have a contact number.

you should be able to apply for a tittle with a bill of sale and say it's never been titled before

If it was from NJ, that explains why it don't have a title. The State of NJ does not title boats 12' long or less. You simply register a boat with only a notarized bill of sale.
