It starts right up with the choke on, but won't idle once the choke is rolled back. I'm using a remote electric start and throttle.
There are no obvious cracks in the fuel line. It has a plastic fuel tank with a vented lid.
I added fuel stabilizer before leaving it to sit for a few months. Before that I had no problems with it.

I have low-minor mechanical skills and knowledge.
Any helpful ideas will be appreciated.

Re: Honda 40hp starts but won't idle

okay , nevermind. Problem solved.
This is what I did. Today, the 4th time I went down to try to get this thing running, I was determined to just sit there while it ran with the choke open.
So that's what I did.
I started it up with choke fully opened. Sat back and opened my new magazine, prepared to spend a few hours reading. About 15 minutes later I could hear the rev's pick up... so I closed the choke a bit and 15 minutes after that I tried closing the choke and it idled!
While still tied down, I tried both forward and reverse with success and then went for an hour ride.
Problem solved.
I do appreciate this forum. I've looked at many other threads and was quite relieved when my problem was solved in this simple manner.
See you on the water!
