Help with ID/year Merc 6 H.P.

I was just given a real nice Merc 60, 6HP Mercury twin Serial Number 1736956. Anybody know the year?Also which
manual would be best to get so that I can get it running,ie carb kit etc.I think it's from the 50's and I have been in
love with that black and chrome for decades.Always wanted one.Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated,
any info about that old model and its history also.I have been a jonnyrude guy for years,but have wished for one of
these since I was a kid. Thank You much,

Looks to be a 1964 model.-----You must install a new impeller before starting it up and leaving the dock.

Wow,quick response.
Thanks Racerone for the year.And thanks to you also gerry.That parts list is for a 60 horse,I've a 6 horse and crowleys lookup
seems to only go back to 1966,if racerone is correct,I've got a 64 6hp.I can't seem to find parts on that list?

Sorry but you need to be persistant in looking up the parts for your motor, it is all there.----Simply ignore the fact that it says 60 HP as that was a mistake by somebody who sits at a desk !-----That parts list shows a white 6 hp cowling in the 1962 model year.------Don't give up so quickly !

It is a '64:

6 60 2-cyl 1607513 1745520 1964 USA

From here:

Discount the 60 HP, that is a misprint and should read Model 60. The parts list in the post above is for your engine Ser # 1408611 THRU 1916138...

Crowley only goes back as far as you have stated if you use the year lookup. You have to use the s/n for years earlier than 1966.

OK, got it! You are both right.Funny thing gerry,the info from that site is in Swedish.I lived in Sweden for 13 yrs.and read/write/speak
the language.Nice find on your part.
