Bigl, it'd probably be better if you got the year/model info. If memory serves correctly, there were 4 different LUs on the 150hps. They only made them from '89 to '94 (I think)?

Is the prop cavitating? When he replaced the prop, did he use the old prop hub or did he replace it as well? I have a 150 Force on the back of a Bayliner and we had to put a huge fin over it to keep it from sucking air!!

Re: help with friends 150 force

Could be a bad NEW prop??
Or the motors not mounted right?
Or it's trimmed too far?
Or it's missing the exhaust snout?
Pictures of the motorand how it's mounted.

Did it ever work right?
More info and history?

The hub on newer style props is interchangable.
If it was bad it would show.

Brinker.Show us a pic of the huge fin??And how did it help???Maybe I'll learn something:)

Missing exhaust snout is my bet.

It Planes off faster and it stopped the cavitation in high speed turns!! Looks funny but it's under water so who sees it anyway? When I'm using it that it, lol!

Re: help with friends 150 force

Skeg was missing when I got the boat. No one will repair it due to the break being too close to the gears. I'm not buying a lower unit for a 22 year old Force, lol!!! I could put a 10 year old Mercury on it for the same price, lol!!
