Any help is greatly appreciated. I've purchased this jon boat with this motor, owner says it's a 6 HP and just wanting to verify as expect a little carb work in the near future. Things runs great but has a little stumble in it, currently running seafoam and that may clear it up but really just wanting to know what I have. I've look it over and unable to find a plate anywhere on it, looks like J3054183 is stamped on what I think is a freeze plug, Checked many site and nothing on that so seeking info from some that know waaay more than I do on the subject. I've attached a few photos hoping that may help... Many thanks in advance...

Judging by the paint colour it is a 1968 / 69 model.--------Now these are excellent motors and the actual year will not matter.----Parts were the same for many years.-----And I would pull the flywheel.----You will find 2 cracked coils or 2 replacements in there already.------Refurbished / overhauled about 10 of these engines in the last few winters !

Thanks for taking the time to reply and I was figuring possibly an early 70's model so I wasn't to far off.. :) Seeing parts diagrams for similar looking engines, yep looks like most are the same. Again thank you...
