Gimbal bearing question

Merc s/n 3465919 model 888.
Has the large snap ring & needs to be replaced.
What is the correct replacement part # & does the snap ring go back in on the replacement one?

while i'm not sure. i don't think ya need to put it back. i know i've be ridiculed (in a nice way) for putting mine back where i found it on my 1 drive... i guess the later drives didn't have the snap ring from the way i understand it..

The snap ring was used with the older style bearing w/ the brass shim material, if you update to the new style bearing and carrier you can skip the snap ring and just drive it in as if doing a Alpha drive, only put the slots aft to make it easier to remove just the bearing for greasing.
