fuel tank?????

hey guys i have the 63 40hp big twin.. i was wandering what type of fuel tank i need? i have to presurized fuel tanks that are steel and are in mint condition, just wandering if i need a vented one or a pressurized one??

Your motor uses the non pressurized tank with a pump bulb to the fuel pump.

so i was looking threw my oem evinrude manual just a few mins ago and in the manual it says " suction type fuel tank " and i am to beleive that the ones i have are the ones i need!

is there anyway to tell if these tanks will work or not? i am not sure if they are pressureized or not.. what will the motor do if it is the wrog fuel tank?

The connectors to the mtrs are different .

go to canadian tire 40 buck for one without fuel gauge and 53 with fuel gauge, lines are really small on pressurized tank hope this helps

Your motor takes a single line vented tank, and the motor has a fuel pump which sucks gas from the tank - thus "suction type fuel tank". A 2-line pressure tank will not work with that motor.
