I have a problem with my fuel sender. I just bought one since the old one was leaking and was not adjusted right. I got the new one and before I put it in I connected it to the wire and tested it. If I put the float all the way up it only read 3/4 tank, if I put it in the middle it went to empty. I connected the sender straight to the gauge and a neg. to the batt. I by passed the original wires to make sure it work, the if the wire where another problem I could deal with it later. Anyway I bought a Moeller sender 30-240 ohms and I checked it with a meter, so the sender seems to work. I also grounded the gague wire to ground and it went to full. What now?

Re: Fuel sender problem.

After writing this I kept on surfing the internet for more answers to my problem and I found a website that said that my gague has 2 sending wires a white and a white/blue. They have diff. ohm readings anyway my sender was hooked up to the white and should have been hooked to the white/blue. Its working now.

Re: Fuel sender problem.

Have found the piston type sender much more reliable .
