Fuel Float Direction?

Dumb question, but which direction is the arm suppose to go up on? Rear, front, or side?

Tried searching but I can't find.....

Trying to button this project up!

It doesn't matter as long as it can move freely through its entire motion.

The mounting screws are not evenly spaced. Should only go on one way.
At least the one built into my boat does...
