Did some forum searching first but asking anyway.

1979 1150 Merc IL6, runs solid, holds idle, could use a tune up(later), did a SeaFoam earlier, new plugs.

I am getting a raw fuel leak from the bottom carb, drips into the pan, then flows out of the lower cowling on the port side near the cable connection.

Anyone have a punchlist of the main causes?

Thanks

The float is stuck open or float has a hole in it. Either way ccarb needs to be pulled and fixed.

Yes, check the float. The originals were foam, which can be damaged by the ethanol in today's fuel. Replacements are hard plastic, and they can crack.

Fastest is a local Merc dealer. Mail order off the web is many places. Google the part numbers from Crowleymarine.com and figure out your choices.
