Finally got the lower unit off my Mariner to replace impeller, but the preload pin on the end of the driveshaft seems to be frozen in place. I’ve been soaking it in penetrating oil and whacking it with a hammer.... no luck so far.
Am I right to assume this pin should spring back up when depressed? Any ideas on how to free it up? I’ve been worried about hitting it too hard with anything....
