A couple days ago I posted a thread about changing a shift linkage screw from slotted to a hex head and you said you hoped I used stainless.<br /><br />If the original was a regular screw why should I have went to stainless? I haven't fired the motor yet so please let me know the reason.<br /><br />Thanx, Hal

I presumed that the shifter linkage in question resides on your outboard. If so, any steel components will rust badly. <br />Even if the original doesn't look stainless, it probably is..... :)
