First overnight boating trip, awesome

The wife and I (no kids for this trip) headed out Saturday afternoon. We got to the lake around 1:30 and were surprised to see no wait at the launch. We did some boating, hung out with some friends, went to dinner at a place on the water, then headed to the island to spend the night. The boat has a "camper-top" and the seats fold flat for sleeping. It was surprisingly comfortable and we stayed warm.

Here is the boat with the top on, I tried it out in the driveway to make sure I knew how it worked before getting there:

Its amazing how comfortable you can be when your out in the boat camping, and the more trips out you will find it gets better, just make sure you make a list for next time:)

Great pics! Looks like you guys had a blast. Now you are making me jealous. I am anxiously awaiting the first time that my wife and I can sleep over on the boat. Probably not on this boat, but hopefully the next one. Glad you guys had a good time.

We don't really have an ideal boat for overnight stays either, but the camper top thing is slick and works like a charm. It takes about 15 minutes to setup.

If we had captains chairs it wouldn't be possible though, the seats in it fold flat and meet the rear seat so you can sleep on them.

yep, i agree. full cover and back to back seats that fold into a lounge chair are the most important items to have when overnighting on a boat that isn't designed as a cruiser. having them two items is a real step towards overnighting onboard.
the only inconvenience i've not overcome is the lack of a head for paper work.... just can't bring myself to use the bailing bucket for that...

yes, thats slightly inconvenient... however if it was an emergency I would just go dig a hole. she wouldn't be as willing to do that...

There is a bathroom open 24 hours right at one of the boat launches. Its about 10 miles from the island we stay at. Its almost impossible to see the channel markers at night though, I need to get a GPS with all the buoys programed into it.
