I'm considering the purchase of a 1990 Sea Ray 220 OV with a three year old 350 Mercruiser engine rebuilt by Jasper. I've searched the forum for comments and in general they are generally good. I'd like to hear from those who have direct experience with the Jasper rebuilds.

Thank you!

Re: Expereince with Jasper Engine Rebuilds

Dunno about boats, but I just had a Jasper engine put into my 2006 Mazda 3 after a catastrophic failure of the original motor. So far I have not had any problems with it, but what impressed me the most was that they offered a 5 year, 100K mile warranty on the engine. The difference in price between the Jasper engine and a used engine was about $600. It was about $1000 cheaper than a new OEM engine, and Mazda would only offer 1 year 10K mile warranty on the replacement engine.

I put one in my truck 3 years ago and am very pleased with it. They were also easy to deal with on a warranty issue I had (installer error).
