Exhaust pipe removal

Is it possible to remove the exhaust pipe with out pulling the engine? It seems like a tight fit? There is also some sort of absorber on the pipe? Is that what that is? Looks to go into a spot on the lower block?

Nope. Engine has to come out.

That's t he motor mount that keeps the front of the motor from falling into the bilge.
