Evinrude Motor Question

Can anyone tell me what year my Evinrude Motor was manufactured. I got this motor from my Dad who got it from his Uncle. He didnt know if his uncle purchased it new or if it was given to him. I believe it is a 1/2 hp motor. It runs great but hasnt been run in about 3 years. The model number on it is 4256-00581. Thanks for any help.

Possibly a 1.8hp from 1938 ??
