You make sense, JB & ezeke. I've heard that from other boaters at the ramp and on other forums. For the record, I do always run 50:1. However, or OMC to ever recommend 100:1 there must have been some research/experimentation done by them to support that initially. 50:1 is probably the "least common denominator" mixture that would keep everyone safe under a wide variety of operating conditions, but I was just wondering if there were some specialized situations where 100:1 might actually be ok. If we all run 50:1 anyway, this discussion is, admitedly, mostly academic.
