evinrude 175hp V6 modle number and manual???

hi there i recently acquired an evinrude 175hp V6 bearing model number 175949R
was just wondering if anyone can tell me which year model this equates to? i am assuming 94? and if anyone can help me out with a service repair manual?

thats not a model number...

the model number is on a bracket that bolts to the transom....

and starts with E175XXX

unless it is older than 30 years old

yeah i thought that when i tried to look it up but thats what is on the bracket....

it is a 1979 model.

manuals should be easy to locate...especially on ebay...or you can get generic manuals here( clymer and the other rag)

and is there a link to a 79 clymer manual on here or is it a matter of manually searching the forums

Search the forums. Stay away from Clymer or Seloc as they Suck. Look for an OEM Factory Service Manual. You might find one on E-Bay. They also sell the OEM manuals on this site.

I looked up the model by checking what was offered on a site that is similar to shopevinrude.com

the site I use is just easier to navigate...I had to check a few years before i found yours...

Iboats lists manuals for sale...but there is nothing like a factory service manual!!!

You can purchase an original factory service manual direct from the original publisher: Ken Cook Co., from Milwaukee. Check out this website: outboardbooks.com. Agree, your engine looks just like my 79 200. If you want to check out the original factory parts lists for your engine the factory has them online: epc.brp.com
