i have a fairly fresh 175 crossflow fresh carbs
timeing at 28 degrees has benn pullin 5800 and running good .
but the other day i lost 600 rpm .so i spark tested had number 5 dead
tested it was coil .installed new coil checked spark good on all 6
went fishing boat ran good up in the rpms and had slighly crappy idle and low end stutter , touched motor while i was flushing it and it shocked me .
fired it up at night and saw no arc anywere .plugs looked fouled after i had lost number 5 didnt change them, ql77jc4 gapped at 035
should i use timeing light under load to see if its dropping cyl .
or should i change these plugs i usually use ul77v surface gap
do ya think i may have fouled the ql77 jc4s .i thought i could clean them runnin it hard but getting shocked ment i had high voltage leak but know its not doing it
link and sink is good other than i have my pickup timeing alittle forward of carbs opening had better hole shot with alittle more inital timeing
any thoughts fresh gas ,brp kits soinic tanked and done by local boat guru hes good ,boats ran fine but coils are suspect second one ive lost in three
weeks any help would be great thanks

Sounds like your stator heating up and grounding out. Just a guess, might be worth checking out.
