Ok, a little history, my neighbor and I decided to do a seafoam treatment on both our boats. Mine turned out great, his on the other hand has been a nightmare. First motor would not start(found dead man switch jammed inside control box with no key on it had popped out of where they jammed it...hence no start.
Now, next day come home from work do seafoam treatment...Great.
Go to ramp to launch both boats and get some hard numbers on any gains from the treatment... my boat picked up 5 mph(gps verified) and now has a nasty hole shot.
His motor, get it in the water running rough, wont shut off, pull cover off try to ground black and yellow wire, still running had to pull plug wires.
get boat out of water and have weak spark on top cylinder.
I guess my question is would a bad coil pack cause an engine to not shut off with the key.
