engine dies at low rpm

I have an 1987 Evinrude 8hp motor. I winterized it in the fall, and pulled it out this spring, It started pretty easy and ran ok. When I reduce the throttle to lower rpm's it will die out. I checked spark, (it's good) changed plugs, used fresh fuel from this year. That is what I've done, is there just an idle adjust on it, or is that going to be way to simple of a fix. Thanks in advance

When you preped it for winter, did you drain the carb? Compression ok?
You might try lightly seating the low speed jet and open it 1 1/2 turn and fine tune it in the water. If that doesn't help, might have to remove the carb and clean it.

did not drain it of fuel when i put it up for the winter. But i always use sea foam as an additive in the gas. I did use fresh fuel this spring thoughl.

Sounds like it needs the carb serviced.
