Electronic Distributor??

Hey guys,

I got the 1975 Mercruiser 888. Its a 302 Ford, and I'm thinking about going with an electronic distributor. I've been doing a little research and I'm still undecided if I wanna spend that much money. Anyone change to one? What's the biggest difference, and is it worth it?

You could just get a pertronix ignitor. It will convert your distributor to electronic without having to replace the whole thing.

If your current points based distributor is adjusted correctly you won't notice any difference in performance! What it does provide is a more reliable, consistent spark and eliminates the routine checking/adjustment/replacement of points. Install it and forget it
