I have a 1987 Wellcraft 19' bow rider with a 165 inboard mercruser /outboard Alpha 1.. The charging system ia a Stator on the end of the crank or fly wheel and a regulator on the block. I purchased a Seloc repair manual for this specific engine and it has nothing about the Stator type charging system. Can anyone tell me where to get info on this type of system, to repair/diagnose or how it works parts etc..
Thanks for any info you can provide

Re: Electrical Charging system(Stator)

Generaly speaking, parts for the 165/3.7's charging system are on the expensive side and some owners opt to switch over to an alternator which replaces the flywheel/stator system...

There is a kit available to convert to an alternator.. alternator kit

That all I got..
