Hello folks, question on my land locked boat. I have twin 1983 470's in a so far 3 year project. I spent alot of time working on one and have not been turning over the other frequently. And vice versa. I just recently checked compression and they both are great.
How long would you let a running motor sit without priming the oil pump? I havent started the idle one for about 2 to 3 months. Just wondering how long it takes the oil in the cylinders to vacate the walls. I imagine since i am using ethenal juiced fuel the cleaning properties would dry it out even sooner. I am in south florida and dont have to winterize.
I know. I can fog it, just think if its sitting for such a short period of time between startings i could do more damage by pulling the plugs every 2 months. as break one, let dirt or debris fall into the hole.etc.
Thank you for your opinion.
I dont have the dummy distributor to prime, guess that should go on my priority list.
