Does the shift cable assembly include the slide?

Is a new slide and set screw included? I have a feeling I may need a new slide and screw since mine look to be welded together from corrosion. I've been soaking the parts with Kroil, but at some point I'm gonna need to bear down and try to get things apart. I'm expecting the screw to strip or break.

Thanks

That's good news! So if I strip or mangle something taking it apart no big deal. :)

Heres how i do it.....

swing the drive to port
remove drive
cut cable and remove boot
remove the rest of the cable out of the bellhousing
run a straight tap down the hole, and blow it out with compressed air
run the new cable through the bell housing
tape some cheap wire on to the old cable
leave 2 or 3 feet of cheap wire
pull the wire through the shift boot
tape the other end up to the new cable(the sheath or jacket really)
jump in the boat and pull it throu
gh
double check the routing, just because the old cable was routed the way it was does not mean it's correct
apply a dab of perfect seal on the threads of the new cable... a dab will do ya

threading in the new cable goes a whole lot easier with 2 people.... athe cables gonna twist and turn inside the boat when you tighten the nut down, so if your going to do it yourself its a PITA, have someone in the boat that can turn the cable along with you so you don't bind it.

Put a dab of grease on the new cable itself, put the shiftslide on, then slide it through the jacket. if it starts to bind try twisting it as you go. you may have to pull it back and push it through a few times to get it all the way up. But it shouldn't take any major force to do it.
if it does... double check your routing.
