Does Pos Battery Cable go to Starter?

I have 1988 Johnson 90hp. Unhooked battery cables and they arent properly marked. Does the POS side of cable go ultimately to the starter?

Seems simple, but I dont want to get it backward.

It doesn't go to the starter, it goes to the starter solenoid which is a small relay next to the starter usually.

There are 4 terminals on the solenoid.
2 small ones, one being grounded the other fed from the "start" contact of the starter switch
2 large ones. One is connected to the starter motor. The battery positive is connected to the other
