do i need a new prop?

How do i know when i need a new prop?? I have a 1967 20 hp johnson. the motor runs great! when i but the motor in foward position the boat doesnt move, and i know its in gear cuz i can feel the motor kick in gear.. if feels like the prop shaft is turning but the prop isnt.. do i need a new prop? how do i know if the prop i have has gone bad?? is there and specific things to look for??

Sounds like your shear/drive pin is busted. Remove the prop and check it. The second option is a spun prop but usually you'd move a bit before it slowed down so it's probably the shear pin.
