I have a bass boat that I replaced the casting deck. I used exterior plywood and fiberglassed both sides before attaching it to exsiting fiberglass on boat. My question is this. Can I attach carpet onto the plywood or do I need to apply a layer or two of gelcoat to the plywood? I would like a smooth transition as possible where the new deck meets exsiting sides of fiberglass.
