I've been reading about methods of tightening rivets for a while and 2 posts said to hit the rivet from the outside, does it matter? We have the 72 16' aluminum Starcraft that has another thread going on about patching a hole in keel cap. Need exact info on correctly tightening rivets, and what to use to apply Gluv It? A paintbrush? a foam roller? Thanks

One guy on inside, one guy on outside.
One guy holds the "dolly" whilst other guy hits rivet with hammer on outside.
It's called peening. ie: ball peen hammer.
I like being on business end (hammer).
Gluvit, what's gluvit?
Peening all rivets= no leaks!

Just kiddin, gluvit is good insurance for aluminum. Peening is never 100% deal.

Cheers

Mix the gluvit very thoughly and use a small paint brush like a 1" or smaller. The dollar store is a great place for disposable brushes and disposable gloves...... I use bothe when I use epoxy or poyester resins.
